Commercial offices case study
A 265 square metre office walkway in new carpet tiles, with a bespoke rounded design hand cut into it in Experian's colours. Delivered three days early.
Experian's offices at The Sir John Peace Building in Nottingham needed a new walkway through the open-plan floor. We delivered it for CBRE, in a live office, three days ahead of schedule.
The walkway, 265 square metres in all, was vinyl over plywood, on a raised access floor. The area could close for two weeks, the programme could not overrun, and the new carpet had to sit flush with the existing carpet either side, so staff had nothing to trip on. Experian also wanted a bespoke design in its brand colours inlaid into the carpet itself. Not printed, and not stuck on.
We lifted the vinyl and the top layer of plywood, then feather-finished the base layer so the new floor would meet the existing carpet and trim flush. New carpet tiles then went down the full length of the walkway: Interface Heuga 727 in Blue Riband, with Pashmina, a bright pink, for the inlays.
Each inlay was templated by hand, keeping the rounded corners the design called for, and client sign-off was secured before we touched the floor. The pink shapes were then cut and set into the blue tiles at agreed points along the route. With the planning done up front, the install ran to time and the walkway was handed back early.
